Uganda, Egypt Defence Officials Hold Bilateral Talks in Kampala

The Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs Vincent Ssempijja has hosted a delegation from National Service Projects Organisations (NSPO) of Egypt at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) Headquarters in Mbuya.

According to an official statement, it was a closed-door meeting that focused on "issues of mutual interest between the two countries".

Minister Ssempijja was accompanied by Under Secretary Finance at MoDVA Edith Butuuro, UPDF MP and Chief Executive Officer of NEC Lt Gen James Mugira among other senior officers.

The Egyptian delegation was led by Brig Gen Ahmed Ahmed Muhamed who was accompanied by the Defence Attaché to Uganda Brig Gen Hany Hassanin Ahmed.

Other members of the NSPO delegation included Col Mohamed Tarex Mohamed, Col Alsayed Mohamed Abdel and Lt Col Elnaggar Abdelmuhny.

NSPO, which is under the Egyptian defence ministry, manufactures military and civilian products and provides contracting services.
