
Photos: Gen Kainerugaba Flags off Birthday Run to Kick Off Celebrations
The Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations and Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has Saturday morning flagged off a marathon to kickstart celebrations to mark his 48th birthday anniversary.
Gen Kainerugaba who was accompanied by several UPDF Generals thanked the runners for waking up early for the run even when it was a Saturday when most people are at home with their families.
The officers that accompanied Gen Kainerugaba included Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda, Brig Chris Serunjogi Ddamulira, Maj Gen Don Nabasa, Maj Gen James Birungi and Brig Johnson Namanya. Also present was Brig Felix Busizoori and Hon Brig Charity Bainababo among other senior security officers.
The run to mark the start of celebrations of Gen Muhoozi’s birthday were flagged off at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.
The run will be followed by another social event at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala. The route for the run was from Kololo Grounds to Acacia Avenue (Protea Hotel turn), to Lugogo Bypass and then to Kira Road round about.
After, runners connected to Mulago Roundabout through Old Kitante Road (Golf Course) back to Kololo through the main gate. By the time of publishing this story, the runners had completed the marathon.

After the Lugogo function, President Museveni will host a State banquet at State House Entebbe which the Rwandan President Paul Kagame is expected to attend.
Gen Kainerugaba has been widely commended for restoring the good relationship between Uganda and Rwanda following his two trips to Kigali where he held meetings with President Kagame whom he fondly refers to as his uncle.

Speaking to the runners are Kololo, Gen Kainerugaba thanked Ugandans for loving their country and urged them to always work to develop it further.
He also thanked them for loving and supporting the security forces who ensure the country's security.
