Museveni, Tshisekedi Discuss Uganda-DRC Security, Infrastructure Projects

President Yoweri Museveni hosted Democratic Republic of Congo President, Felix Tshisekedi, at State House Entebbe on Tuesday, where the two leaders discussed mutual interests between Uganda and the DRC. The meeting centred on enhancing security, boosting regional stability, and advancing infrastructure that benefits both nations.

Museveni highlighted the alignment in priorities between the two countries, saying, “We are all in agreement that what Congo needs is what Uganda needs.” He further expressed gratitude for Tshisekedi’s readiness to engage in talks, noting, “I thank H.E. Tshisekedi for responding positively to my invitation for this meeting.”

The two leaders delved into critical infrastructural projects, particularly major roads that hold substantial economic promise for both Uganda and the DRC. “We discussed, among other issues, Security between Uganda and DRC, Regional Security, and infrastructural developments, including key roads of mutual economic benefit,” Museveni remarked.

This latest engagement signals continued cooperation between Uganda and DRC, with both leaders underscoring the importance of a united approach in fostering regional development and stability.
