Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin Sredojevic aka Micho has today, Thursday ended his contract with the national football team.

In a brief statement released by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA), Micho and FUFA have agreed to 'mutually' end the existing employment contract between the two parties.
"FUFA appreciates all efforts and commitment by Mr. Milutin during his period as Head coach of Uganda Cranes," the statement reads.

This is in the wake of Uganda Cranes failure to qualify for the 2024 AFCON finals in Ivory Coast.

This is the second time Micho has ended his contract with the Cranes, having done so in 2017. Micho led Uganda Cranes to their first Nations Cup finals in 38 years.

There was optimism that his reappointment in 2021 would send the Cranes to another Nations Cup campaign. The national team could only settle for the third position in Group F in favour of Algeria and Tanzania who qualified for AFCON finals despite beating Niger in the final return fixture.
