Leaders of Ugandan corporate entities have been encouraged to take decisive steps towards sustainable success. This call was made during the 15th Annual CEO Forum, held at Mestil Hotel and Residences in Kampala, where CEOs and top managers gathered to discuss strategies for steering their organisations towards long-term sustainability.

Under the theme Only One Earth – Our Purpose and Mandate, the Forum emphasized the importance of innovative leadership in addressing climate challenges. Ramathan Ggoobi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, urged CEOs to adopt proactive, long-term solutions. He highlighted Uganda’s estimated USD 28.1 billion climate finance needs between 2023 and 2030, reaffirming the government's commitment to integrating climate change into national policies.

Stephen Mukasa, CEO Summit Uganda’s Country Team Leader, called for a unified corporate approach to tackling climate change, emphasizing the need for collaboration across industries. Dorcas Batwala Muhwezi, MTN Uganda’s General Manager for Customer Experience, encouraged business leaders to take immediate action, sharing MTN’s pledge to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040.

This year’s Forum brought together key industry players, including MTN, Centenary Bank, and National Water and Sewerage Corporation, to explore solutions for a sustainable and equitable future.
