President Museveni Promotes Over 400 UPDF Officers

President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the armed forces has promoted 469 army officers to different ranks.

Relatedly, 28 junior and senior other officers have had their ranks confirmed.

In the latest promotions, the most senior officers have been elevated from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier General. 

In a press statement released issues Thursday the ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Uganda People’s Defence Forces, Gen Museveni promoted 2 officers from rank of Colonel Brigadier.

The notable senior officers who were promoted to new ranks include Brig David Tweheyo and Brig Silver Changa Muhwezi who have been previously Colonels.

The promotions and confirmations come after the official retirement of hundreds of officers.
