Museveni Promotes 71 Senior Prisons Officers

President Yoweri Museveni promoted 65 senior prisons officers to various ranks and redesignated six directors, exercising the authority provided under Article 172 of the Constitution of Uganda and on advice from the Prisons Authority Sections 10(C) and 20(1) of the Prisons Act, 2006.

According to a January 19 statement from the Commissioner General of Prisons Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, the ranks that were considered are the senior superintendent of prisons, assistant commissioner general of prisons, commissioner of prisons, assistant commissioner of prisons, senior superintendent of prisons.
