Museveni Allocates Land to Uganda Boxing Federation to Construct Boxing Academy
President Yoweri Museveni has ordered Uganda Land Commission (ULC) to allocate land to Uganda Boxing Federation for the construction of state of the art boxing academy.
In his letter dated 13th September, 2021, Museveni has directed ULC Chairperson Beatrice Nyakaisiki to ensure that the boxing federation is given at least 10 acres of land within Kampala for the construction of the facility.
"Since Government has always supported the development of sports, you should identify and allocate at least 10 acres within a radius of 30miles from Kampala to them. However, clear covenants should be included in their lease agreement so that Government can repossess the land if they are unable to develop it within a given period,” Museveni said.
Uganda Boxing Federation has often times appealed to the President to give them land for development. The Federation tweeted Museveni’s letter saying, “Our Journey to construct a state of the Art National Boxing Complex/Arena is in progress, it’s a collaboration between International Boxing Association (AIBA), Uganda Government & Uganda Boxing Federation.
