The Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has said that he would not have a problem talking to Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine.

Gen Kainerugaba, through his twitter handle, said that he has talked to Bobi Wine before and that he wouldn't have a problem talking to him again.

"A lot of my supporters are telling me to sit down and talk to my brother Bobi Wine. I have no problem talking to him, we talked in the past and were friends. I just advise all the youth never to seek war over peace," Gen Kainerugaba tweeted on Thursday evening, attaching an old photo of him and the dreadlocked musician.

Following Bobi Wine's declaration that he intends to run for president of Uganda in the coming election, a number of Ugandans on social media especially those that admire Gen Kainerugaba and would like to see him occupy the highest political office in Uganda have been urging the former SFC boss to coalesce with the musician turned politician.

Several Ugandans on social media have expressed support for Gen Kainerugaba, urging him to run for the presidency in 2026.

Earlier on Thursday, Gen Kainerugaba thanked Ugandans for turning around 'the Muhoozi project curse' into a blessing.

"Some evil people coined this phrase to try and destroy us! But trust my generation to convert every curse into a blessing! Thank you Ugandans!" Gen Kainerugaba tweeted Thursday morning.

This tweet on its own dominated social media conversations with the hashtag #TheMuhooziProject trending from the time the General sent out his tweet.

One of the highly-trained military officers in East Africa, Gen Kainerugaba attended the Egyptian Military Academy where he took both the company and battalion commanders courses.

He also has attended the Kalama Armoured Warfare Training School, in Kabamba, Mubende District, Central Uganda. In 2007 he was admitted to a one-year course at the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, graduating in June 2008. Following that, he successfully completed the Executive National Security Programme at the South African National Defence College.

Based on his experience and training, most Ugandans believe that Gen Kainerugaba should participate in securing the gains of the current government, something he has vowed to undertake.

In the recent past, Gen Kainerugaba has repeatedly assured Ugandans of their security, noting that Uganda's enemies would have a terrible day.

"I can assure whoever even thinks of messing with Uganda will get a very bad day. Long live UPDF! Long live Ugandan Special Forces!" Gen Kainerugaba said in one of his tweets last year.

Before this tweet, the General had posted a related message ahead of Uganda's independence celebrations, "Ugandan strong! I never used to believe it but Almighty God has made me a believer. Nobody can defeat Uganda! This is God's country. Whoever dares will be crushed to dust! Ruhanga Asiimwe. Happy Independence Day! God bless Uganda!!!"
