The Kasangati Chief Magistrates Court has granted bail to former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) officials Dorothy Kisaka, David Luyimbazi, and Dr. Daniel Okello, who face charges related to Kiteezi landfill collapse.

The three former officials, who were dismissed by President Museveni, face 57 charges, including manslaughter, in connection with the landfill collapse that killed 34 people and injured 23 others.

Kisaka, Luyimbazi, and Okello returned to court on 4th November 2024 for the bail application hearing following their October 18th indictment.

The charges were filed after an investigation by the Inspectorate of Government (IGG), which linked the tragic incident to alleged failures at the landfill during their tenure.
