Uganda’s coffee is taking center stage at the Frankfurt Coffee Festival 2025, where the country is showcasing its finest beans to the German and European market.
The Uganda Embassy in Berlin, led by Jessica Namuddu, is spearheading the effort in partnership with Ugandan entrepreneurs Tom Kalyesubula of Littlefarms Coffee and Milly Nanfuma of SeraWild Coffee. The festival, which runs from September 12 to 15, brings together producers, roasters, retailers, and coffee lovers from across the globe.
Founded in 2021 by Patrice Wiedemann and Holger Putzke, the Frankfurt Coffee Festival has become one of Germany’s leading platforms for the coffee industry. Uganda’s participation signals its growing influence in the international specialty coffee scene.
“The Embassy is working to open more doors for Ugandan farmers and exporters, ensuring that Uganda’s world-class coffee secures a strong foothold in the German and wider European market,” Namuddu said.
The exhibition also precedes the Uganda Cup in Bamberg, Germany, scheduled for September 16, 2025, further positioning Ugandan coffee as a key player in international competitions and trade opportunities.
The State House Diaspora Unit commended the embassy and entrepreneurs for their efforts to promote Uganda’s products abroad. “Your efforts not only create market opportunities but also contribute to Uganda’s economic growth by supporting farmers and showcasing the richness of our coffee heritage,” the unit said in a statement.
Uganda, Africa’s leading exporter of Robusta coffee, has continued to gain global recognition for its high-quality beans, with such international platforms boosting the nation’s coffee profile and farmer incomes.
